The ETNA craters 3000 meters excursion is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and most spectacular excursion that only the Etna Volcano will be able to leave in your mind for life.

The excursion to the ETNA 3000 Craters has as its starting point the square of the Rifugio Sapienza (Nicolosi) , Etna South side of Etna.

During the excursion you will be accompanied exclusively by: ALPINE GUIDES and VOLCANOLOGICAL GUIDES (only figures enabled to accompany on active Volcanoes)

The "Etna 3000 Craters Excursion" excursion will start from the square of the Sapienza Refuge (Nicolosi - South Etna), first taking advantage of the Etna cableway , which from an altitude of 1900 meters ci will lead to an altitude of 2500 meters.
Once we have reached 2500 meters, the north-east trek will begin and in a few minutes we will reach the Escrivà Crater (formed in the 2001 eruption).

Continuing northwards we will reach the base of the craters of the Barbagallo craters. Once at the base we will first visit the effusive mouths and the respective "Hot Point" and then enter within the respective lava flow channel .

The excursion continues towards the last recent lava flows of 2021. After the visit of the casting that "could" be with the warm inside, a small break will be made.

After the break we continue to climb towards the two craters formed in the autumn of 2002 called Barbagallo Craters . Arrived at the top of the craters we will make the tour of the two craters for then go down inside it.

After visiting the craters located at an altitude of 2920 meters, the highest point of the excursion descends towards the Belvedere della Valle del Bove , a place that allows you to admire the majestic beauty of the great depression.

Then the excursion continues in the direction of the crater called Cisternazza , and then returns to the arrival station of the Etna cable car at an altitude of 2500 m.

For the more trained, it will be possible to continue the descent on foot, to Rifugio Sapienza (1900 m.)
