The excursion "Eruptive fractures Etna North East" Pizzi Deneri - Volcanological Observatory, on the north side is undoubtedly the most fascinating excursion, to discover the wildest corners of the Etna Volcano!
This excursion offers a complete and fascinating experience on Etna, suitable for those who want to immerse themselves in the volcanic nature of the highest volcano in Europe. Through paths between craters, lava flows and volcanic ducts, you will discover the secrets of this active giant.
The Excursion starts from the square of Piano Provenzana (Linguaglossa), on the Etna North side of Etna.

Itinerary description:
4x4 climb: starting from an altitude of 1800 meters and climbing up to 2800 meters, accompanied by a volcanological guide who will illustrate the characteristics of the volcano.Visit to the Volcanological Observatory: located at high altitude, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the summit craters, the lava flows and Sicily.
First trek: an easy walking route from an altitude of 2800 to 2900 meters approximately, with a spectacular view of the Valle del Bove.
Descent in 4x4: from 2800 to 2450. Second trek: From 2450 you take a path on foot (about 6 km) that will take you to explore the fracture of the North slope, the craters of the 1947 eruption, a volcanic conduit and the effusive mouths of the lava flows. Descent: the path continues on the edge of large explosive craters and between slopes of volcanic ash, until reaching Piano Provenzana, the starting point.
The excursion "Etna Nord Est eruptive fractures" will start from the Piano Provenzana square (Linguaglossa - Etna Nord), using special "4×4" vehicles we will reach an altitude of 2800 meters .
From this altitude the trek will begin that along a path accessible to all, will lead us to the Pizzi Dei Nei (Volcanological Observatory) . During the Etna excursion the Alpine Guide or the Volcanological Guide who accompanies you along the way will illustrate the geological and historical history of the Etna Volcano.
After about 10 minutes of walking we will arrive at 2920 meters , that is, on the top of the Valle del Bove, where you can admire the entire Valle del Bove, and in front you can admire the summit craters
After the visit we will take the 4x4 vehicles again to reach an altitude of 2460 (Monte Pizzillo), from there we continue along a simple path to reach the Hornitos of 1947. After the visit of the Hornitos we will take the path again to walk along the edge of various craters, until we reach the craters of the last important eruption dell'Etna "Eruptive fractures of the 2002 eruption".
From this last point, continue downhill along the fracture to reach the starting point (Piano Provenzana).
