Is it possible to reach the summit craters?

YES iAt this time, it is more comfortable to climb to the summit craters of Etna from the northern side of Etna; from the southern side, due to the latest eruptions, the path often needs to be repaired, and some sections are not yet fully stabilized.
Some important considerations to keep in mind:
1. **Mandatory Guide**: It is mandatory to be accompanied by a licensed mountain or volcanological guide to reach the Summit Craters. This is to ensure safety and provide expert support during the hike.
2. **Weather and Volcanic Conditions**: Access to the Summit Craters may be subject to restrictions or temporary closures based on weather conditions or volcanic activity. It is important to check current conditions before planning the climb.
3. **Difficulty**: The hike to the Summit Craters is considered challenging. It requires good physical condition, as the terrain can be rugged and the high altitudes result in lower oxygen levels.
4. **Equipment**: It is necessary to wear clothing and footwear suitable for mountain trekking. Due to temperature fluctuations, it's advisable to bring layers of clothing, as well as sunscreen and water. Hiking to the Summit Craters is an incredible experience and offers a unique perspective on one of the world's most active volcanoes.
