Join one of the most spectacular Mount Etna sunset excursions and admire the sun setting over Sicily from the summit area of Europe’s highest active volcano.

During the excursion, you will be accompanied exclusively by Certified Alpine Guides and Volcanological Guides, ensuring maximum safety and professionalism.

Tour Details:

Meeting Point: Piano Provenzana – Etna North (Linguaglossa)

Departure Time: Between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM depending on the sunset time.

Availability: Daily in August. In other months, departures are confirmed on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Additional departures are available upon reaching the minimum number of participants.

The Etna Sunset 4x4 Tour starts from Piano Provenzana and continues aboard special 4x4 off-road vehicles up to the Volcanological Observatory at Pizzi Deneri (2,900 m).

During the ascent, we stop at the 2002 ruption craters, one of the most powerful eruptions on the northern side of Mount Etna. Short trekking stop: approximately 25–30 minutes.

The tour continues up to approximately 2,800 meters, where we begin a guided trekking experience towards Piano delle Concazze, a stunning lunar-like volcanic landscape.

From this extraordinary viewpoint, you will enjoy panoramic views of:

• Valle del Leone
• Pizzi Deneri
• Valle del Bove
• The South-East Crater (one of Etna’s most active craters)

From the Volcanological Observatory, you will admire a spectacular 360° panorama. On clear days, you can see:

• The Aeolian Islands
• Taormina coastline
• Catania coastline
• The coast of Calabria
• Stromboli Volcano

The highlight of the excursion is the unforgettable sunset over Mount Etna, a unique natural spectacle that transforms the volcanic landscape into a magical atmosphere.

After sunset, we begin the descent by 4x4 vehicle back to Piano Provenzana.
