The excursion to the Valle del Bove will allow you to discover and get excited within the volcanic caldera of the Etna Volcano.

The Excursion inside the Valle del Bove starts from the square of the Rifugio Sapienza (Nicolosi) , Etna South side of Etna.

Excursion within the Valle del Bove will start from the square of the Sapienza Refuge (Nicolosi - Etna Sud), first taking advantage of the Etna cableway , which from altitude 1900 meters ci will lead to an altitude of 2500 meters.

Once we reach 2500 meters, the trek will start heading north-east and in a few minutes we will reach the Crater of Montagnola (2640 meters) During the excursion to Etna the Alpine Guide or the Volcanological Guide that accompanies you along the journey will tell you everything you want to know about volcano and its history, while you admire the lunar panorama of Etna.

From the Cima della Montagnola you can enjoy a superb view of the summit craters. Just below the top of the Montagnola begins a gully of volcanic sand that descends with 900mt of difference in height to the Valle del Bove. The itinerary yes winds between vertical walls in which the stratifications of the ancient eruptive centers and the lava dikes are visible.

Continue along the bottom of the valley on the roped lava field of the 1991-93 eruption and then exit the valley through a beautiful beech forest.
