Bottoniera of 2002, fractures and eruptions of Etna in 1911 and 1923.
The night between 26 and 27 October begins a strong seismic crisis on the north and south sides. On the northern side of Piano Provenzana in a few hours starting from an altitude of 2650, a particular eruptive activity begins to form, called a bottoniera. The lava came out of the eruptive fracture and in a few hours destroyed two buildings used for restaurants and hotels.
The 2002 eruption was one of the most impressive and devastating in recent years.
